Social Networking a Necessity?

Social Networking a Necessity?

Is social networking a necessity for business? That is the subject of my first blog. As our society is changing ever so fast, I think that if it is not a necessity it is certainly an advantage. Staying in touch with those that you know and more importantly, those that know you can help increase business. Especially in a service oriented business like home inspection.

When someone is buying a house and needs a home inspection, in most cases they either throw a dart at the phone book or rely on their realtor to refer someone. For several reasons (that will be expressed in future blogs) this can have disastrous consequences. Rather, having a friend (someone you know and trust) refer a professional (someone they know and trust) is a much better way of assuring that you receive a service that satisfies. With the social networking tools that are now available, there is no need to take chances with people we know nothing about. We can now rely on our friends and family to help put us together with professionals that they trust and have had good experiences with. The networking system may not have completely evolved just yet but the platform is definitely in place. Social networking may very well become a necessity in a service oriented business. It’s time I get on board. I look forward to the experience.
